Concept Artist, making public art.
About The Process
The ultimate goal and appeal of making public art is to resolve and integrate an interactive art concept and a public environment to create breathtaking artwork with a meaningful reception. With a knack for innovative problem solving and digital design, My process goes beyond the norm, integrating contemporary art concepts, user-center design, and project management processes to provide the most interactive user experience for Public Art installations.
The Art in Public Places program seeks to commission works of art of redeeming quality that advance public understanding of visual art and enhance the aesthetic quality of public places through the selection of qualified artists or artist teams who can innovatively and thoughtfully design within the context of this project.
The initial concept was to combining the sculptural form and the viewer, the artwork becomes an interactive space, an image that the viewer participates in to complete. this concept combined with collected imagery resulted in an artwork that was public-friendly and interactive.
In 2011, I worked with PASA, in collaboration with the, now Senior Art Manager and Curator for the Port of Seattle. I also worked with PASA Commissioned artists, and partner in the installation of permanent and temporary public art.
